Seamless Updates

Update and restart without losing your place: tabs come back and AI sessions resume.

A small background service (a macOS LaunchAgent) watches for new releases. When one is newer than the installed build, the app offers it in a dialog at once and at launch; Later leaves it in Notifications, where a click offers it again.

Update and Restart saves the tabs of every window, with their groups, splits and the tab in front. It ends the AI sessions so they can be resumed, and quits. The service checks the SHA-256 of the disk image, installs it, and starts the app again with the same tabs. SSH sessions reconnect, AI sessions resume their conversations, and files reopen at their cursor lines. A failed install puts the previous app back. The service keeps the three latest releases.

Check for Updates… in the app menu asks at any time; when there is nothing new it says the app is up to date.

About Anxeb Terminal shows the logo and what the app is for; the version and build, with whether it is up to date; the system, the update service, where the data is kept (with Show in Finder) and a short id of the installation; and links to the website, Send Feedback… and Check for Updates….
